Antonino Secchia vor dem Deutschen Nationaltheater

Antonino Secchia (born in 1988) studied percussion with Fulvia Ricevuto and electroacoustic composition with Domenico Sciajno at the CONSERVATORIO ANTONIO SCONTRINO in Trapani in his home country, Italy. Parallel to completing his training in February 2010, he began studying at the Franz Liszt School of Music in Weimar as an Erasmus Scholar. In the winter semester 2010/11 he began his postgraduate studies in the percussion classes of Prof. Markus Leoson and Prof. Gerhard Gläßer in Weimar, sponsored by the Neue Liszt Stiftung Weimar, which he completed with distinction in November 2013.

In March 2013 he won a scholarship of the YAMAHA MUSIC FOUNDATION OF EUROPE.

As a drummer/percussionist he has worked with various orchestras, including the Staatskapelle Weimar, the Jenaer Philharmonie, the Göttinger Symphonie Orchester, the Philharmonisches Orchester Altenburg-Gera, the Theater Rudolstadt and the Landes Theater Niederbayern.

He is also active in the field of jazz as a soloist (vibraphone/percussion), as well as in various other formations (e.g. the quartet Note Azure).

Antonino Secchia played in various music festivals, including Isole in Musica, LiveIxem!, Audiovisiva – Milano, Suonafrancese and the Weimar Spring Days for Contemporary Music. Hundisburg Castle Music Festival, Regensburg Jazz Weekend.

For some time now he has been working on his own compositions for music theatre, drama and young theatre and has collaborated with the stages of the city of Gera/Altenburg, the Theater Regensburg, the Theater Impuls, the Teamtheater Munich and the Goethe Institut Palermo.
